Additionally, Tata Motors has plans to launch the Tata Altroz Racer Edition and Tata Punch EV in the second half of the year.

Let’s delve into the key details of these upcoming Tata cars.

Upcoming Tata Cars

Tata Altroz CNG

The Altroz hatchback will be available in a CNG version with four trims – XE, XM+, XZ, and XZ+.

Under the hood, all variants will feature a 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with a new twin-cylinder CNG kit.

In CNG mode, this setup is capable of delivering a maximum power of 77bhp and 97Nm of torque.

The transmission will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Tata Altroz CNG variant is equipped with two 30-litre tanks, positioned beneath the boot floor to ensure ample boot space.

The model is identified by an ‘iCNG’ badge on the tailgate. It is estimated that the Altroz CNG variant will be priced approximately Rs 90,000 higher than its petrol manual counterpart.

Tata Nexon Facelift

Tata’s best-selling SUV, the Nexon, is slated to undergo significant cosmetic and feature upgrades in the upcoming months.

The subcompact SUV will showcase design changes and interior elements inspired by the Currv concept, which was unveiled at this year’s Auto Expo.

The interior of the Nexon will feature notable updates, including a new two-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel with control buttons, a revised centre console with touch panel and toggle switches for HVAC control, a new digital instrument cluster, and fresh purple seat upholstery.

In terms of powertrain, the Nexon will be equipped with a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine generating 125bhp and 225Nm of torque, along with an option for a 1.5L diesel engine as well.

Tata Punch CNG

The Tata Punch CNG was initially showcased alongside the Altroz CNG at the 2023 Auto Expo.

Like the Altroz CNG, it is powered by a 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with a twin-cylinder CNG setup.

The CNG version of the micro SUV will be available exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The power and torque ratings for the CNG variant are 77bhp and 97Nm respectively, making it slightly less powerful but more torquey compared to the regular petrol model.

It features two sizable 60-litre CNG tanks positioned beneath the boot floor.

In terms of design, the Punch CNG distinguishes itself from its petrol counterpart with the ‘iCNG’ badge.

Tata Altroz Racer

The Tata Altroz Racer Edition, which was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, is a sportier and more powerful version of the hatchback.

It boasts a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will also be available on the updated Harrier and Safari SUVs.

Additionally, it features a new digital instrument cluster and an electrically adjustable sunroof with voice assist.

The hatchback is treated with an all-black theme and incorporates several sporty design elements.

The highlight of the Altroz Racer is its 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which is tuned to deliver 120bhp of power and 170Nm of torque.

Upon its launch, it will compete with the Hyundai i20 N Line. The Racer Edition can be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Harrier/Safari Facelifts

The extensively updated versions of the Tata Harrier and Safari SUVs are expected to be launched just before the 2023 festive season.

Both models will feature a new 10.25-inch infotainment system with an improved user interface.

In addition, the SUVs are likely to receive a revamped dashboard, new interior themes, and textures.

According to reports, Tata Motors may offer the 2023 Harrier and Safari facelifts with a new 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo.

This engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 170bhp and a torque of 280Nm.

Production of the updated models of both SUVs is expected to commence in September 2023.

Tata Punch EV

Although the exact launch timeline for the Tata Punch EV has not been officially confirmed by the carmaker, it is rumored to be released towards the end of this year.

The Punch EV is highly anticipated in the country and considered one of the most-awaited upcoming Tata cars.

It will be built on the new Sigma architecture, which is an extensively updated version of the Alfa platform.

The powertrain setup for the electric micro SUV is expected to be borrowed from Tata’s existing EVs, featuring a permanent magnet synchronous motor that powers the front wheels.

Tata is likely to offer the Punch EV in multiple variants and battery pack options.

In terms of design, the micro SUV will feature some EV-specific elements on the exterior.
