Tata Altroz CNG Specifications
Tata Motors’ latest launch features a dual-cylinder setup in the new Altroz CNG model, where the CNG cylinders are strategically positioned under the boot floor to optimize the available boot space.
This configuration includes two separate 30-liter CNG tanks, instead of a single, larger 60-liter CNG tank.
The boot space in the petrol version of the Altroz is 345 liters, whereas the Altroz CNG is expected to offer a boot space of over 200 liters, taking into account the dual-cylinder setup.
Additionally, the fuel tank capacity for the petrol Altroz is 37 liters, while the Altroz CNG is equipped with a larger 60-liter CNG tank.
Tata Motors has taken measures to enhance safety in the Altroz CNG model by incorporating features such as thermal incident protection, leak detection, and fire prevention equipment.
The Altroz CNG will be powered by the same 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder engine as the petrol version, which delivers 86 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque.
When running on CNG mode, the engine in the Altroz is expected to generate 77 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 97 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm.
In terms of mileage, the Altroz CNG is projected to deliver approximately 26 kilometers per kilogram (km/kg).
The Altroz CNG model comes equipped with a range of features, including LED daytime running lights (DRLs), projector headlamps, an electric sunroof, a 7-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system, and automatic climate controls.
The Altroz CNG will also include convenient features such as a height-adjustable driver’s seat, rear AC vents, and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
In terms of safety, the Altroz CNG will be equipped with six airbags, in addition to other safety features.
One of the notable features of the Altroz CNG will be its single advanced Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which is a first-in-segment feature.
Additionally, the Altroz CNG will also come with direct start capability using CNG, providing enhanced convenience and ease of use.
Punch CNG Launch
It is highly anticipated that Tata Motors will be launching the Punch CNG model in the near future, expected to be available in the coming months.
The Punch CNG model from Tata Motors is expected to come with a host of features, including an electric sunroof, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, rear AC vents, and 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, similar to those found on its regular petrol variant.
Notably, Tata Motors will also be introducing the electric sunroof option in the petrol versions of both Altroz and Punch models.
As for pricing, the CNG variants of Tata Altroz and Punch are expected to be priced at a premium of approximately Rs 1 lakh over their respective petrol counterparts.
Currently, the Tata Altroz petrol MT is priced in the range of Rs 6.45-9.1 lakh, while the Punch MT is priced between Rs 6.00-8.87 lakh.
Once launched, the Tata Altroz CNG will likely compete with similar offerings in the market, such as the Maruti Baleno CNG.
