Truecaller introduces Live Caller ID Feature for iOS Users: How to use It?

Truecaller has unveiled a Live Caller ID feature exclusively for iPhone users, enabling them to easily retrieve information about incoming calls.

By integrating Apple’s virtual assistant, the platform has made it easier for users to quickly access this information.

However, it is important to note that not all users will have access to this functionality.

To use the new feature, iPhone users can activate Truecaller by voice command when receiving an incoming call from an unknown number, by saying “Hey Siri, Search Truecaller.”

The program will then quickly record the number, search for the caller, and display the information above the call screen.

However, this feature is only available to Truecaller premium users on iOS 16 or later.

This means that in order to access the feature, users must purchase the app’s Premium membership.

Truecaller for iOS now utilizes App Intents and Siri Shortcuts to provide users with the desired search results.

With this upgrade, iOS users no longer need to manually search for phone numbers or copy-paste them into the widget.

This new feature offers a higher level of convenience.

Additionally, the Live Caller ID with Siri feature searches the entire Truecaller database, providing the same level of detail as the Android version of Truecaller, according to the company.

Steps for setting up truecaller live caller ID for iOS users

  • You have to first go to the Premium page of the app and choose “Add to Siri”. This will enable you to add the shortcut with just a single click  When using this function for the first time, you will be prompted to grant Truecaller access; choose “Always allow” to prevent the pop from being prompted again.
  • Once you’ve configured the Siri shortcut, all you have to say is “Hey Siri, search Truecaller” to get Truecaller to tell you who is calling you.

Upcoming features coming up for iOS users by Truecaller

The latest update of the app now enables users to check and provide feedback on phone numbers that have been marked as spam.

It allows users to view comments made by other users about a particular spammer. Users can share their own experiences with unwanted calls.

The new update also includes an SMS filtering feature that automatically categorizes incoming SMS messages into different categories such as Finance, Orders, Reminders, Coupons, Offers, and Junk.

This feature is currently available on iOS 16 and later versions in India, South Africa, and Nigeria.

The company has also stated that they plan to make these services available in more countries soon.
