Sony, a leading technology company, has recently launched a new feature called “Accessibility Tags” for their PlayStation 5 (PS5) consoles.
In a blog post on Monday, Sony announced the global release of “Accessibility Tags” on the PlayStation Store for PS5 consoles, stating their excitement about the new feature.
Game developers can now use the tags to provide comprehensive information on the accessibility features available in their games.
When browsing different game hubs on the PS5 PlayStation Store, users will have the option to select the “Triangle” button to view a list of accessibility features supported by the game, thanks to the newly introduced “Accessibility Tags.”
These features can include a range of settings such as visual and audio accessibility options, DualSense controller configurations, difficulty settings, and even online communication features like chat transcription.
Sony’s “Accessibility Tags” will be accessible for both PS5 and PS4 games on the PlayStation Store on the PS5 console.
In cases where both PS5 and PS4 versions of a game are available, users can compare the accessibility tags for each platform through a dropdown menu.
Sony has announced that the rollout of the “Accessibility Tags” feature will be gradual, and players can expect to see it becoming available throughout the week.
Sony mentioned that they are currently in the process of implementing the “Accessibility Tags” feature in collaboration with several developers, and it will become available on various game hubs on the PS5 console in the upcoming weeks and months.
It was reported last month that the Japanese company is planning to launch the PS5 Pro, an upgraded version of the current PS5, late next year.
