In recent times, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has gained a lot of attention, with tech companies striving to integrate it into their products to improve user experience.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been a significant driver behind this trend.
Google has now joined the fray, announcing the introduction of generative AI capabilities to its Workspace suite of apps, which include Google Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Meet, and Chat.
With these new AI features, users will be able to efficiently compose, reply, summarize, and prioritize their emails in Gmail.
Google introduces AI features in Docs
Users can now benefit from a range of AI-powered features across various Google Workspace apps.
In Docs, they can brainstorm, write, proofread, and rewrite with ease. Slides users can create compelling visuals with auto-generated images, audio, and video.
Sheets provides an easy-to-use interface for generating insights and analysis from raw data, utilizing auto-completion, formula generation, and contextual categorization.
Meet features new background generation and note-taking capabilities, while Chat streamlines workflows.
The new AI features will first launch via Google’s trusted tester program, with a focus on English in the US.
Google plans to iterate and refine these experiences before making them more broadly available to consumers, small businesses, enterprises, and educational institutions in different countries and languages.
In addition to these updates, Google is reportedly developing a new “Search Companion” feature for Google Chrome, which will allow users to search the web using Lens, thereby deepening the connection between Lens and Chrome.
