Netflix Account Password Sharing:
Users using Netflix will soon be shocked. Netflix, one of the world’s most popular OTT platforms, has already announced discontinuing the password-sharing feature in the first quarter of 2023.
The OTT company has recently released its quarterly results. Netflix has said that the company’s revenue has decreased due to users sharing their Netflix accounts.
The company informed us about the ban on password sharing at the end of last year. Netflix has now made it clear how not sharing the account password is helping the company to increase users.
Will have to pay extra money to run a Netflix account on different devices
According to a post on the Netflix FAQ page, a single Netflix account can now only be accessed by people living in the same household.
And those who are not living at the same address will need to use their account to watch Netflix as the primary account holder.
Now it will be tough to share the password with users outside the subscriber’s home. And sharing a single Netflix account at different locations may cost you extra.
If a new device linked to the primary account is in a different location, a 4-digit code will be required to play Netflix.
This code needs to be entered within 15 minutes of accessing the request. Please tell us that the device will be allowed to run the Netflix account only for seven days in the second location.
Netflix says that users travelling with the primary device will not have any problem running Netflix in other locations as well.
For better and smoother Netflix access, the user must be connected to Wi-Fi at his primary site every 31 days.
Password sharing feature will be closed in all countries in 2023
Let us tell you that Netflix has started testing related to closing the password-sharing feature in Latin American countries such as Argentina, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic.
If users run a Netflix account outside their homes for more than two weeks, they have to pay an additional charge of about $ 3.
There needs to be more information about the rollout of this feature in other countries. But in 2023, the password-sharing feature can also be turned off in other countries.
Netflix’s focus on revenue
It is worth noting that to increase its revenue, Netflix is also paying a lot of attention to advertising.
The company launched an ad-based plan in 2022, costing $ 6.99 per month (about Rs 572).
This plan was made available in Australia, Brazil, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico and the US.
