New Delhi:
If you travel by Metro, then there is bad news for you because Noida-Greater Noida Metro made a big decision regarding keeping the minimum balance in the card.
The minimum balance in the card has been increased fivefold.
Under the new rule, now if your metro card does not have at least 50 rupees, then you will not be able to enter the metro station.
Due to the congestion inside the metro stations, Noida-Greater Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has taken this decision.
In this regard, NMRC director Ritu Maheshwari has issued an order.
This rule is being implemented from January 16 regarding the minimum amount required in the metro card to get admission in the metro station.
NMRC has said in its order that keeping in view the problems of the passengers and to solve the operational issues, NMRC has changed the rule of maintaining a minimum balance on the metro card.
The minimum balance limit in the NMRC Smart Card has been increased from Rs.10 to Rs.50.
Only now, it is necessary to have ten rupees on the card to enter the metro station, but from January 16, if there are no 50 rupees, then it will not be available in the entry.
Every day about 45 thousand people travel by NMRC Metro.
NMRC has taken this decision keeping in view the overcrowding situation.
Explain that NMRC oversees the planning, management, and construction of the Noida and Greater Noida metro network.
The company plans to increase the reach of Noida Metro and Greater Noida Metro by building new lines between Noida and Greater Noida and between Sector 142 and Botanical Garden.
