Mahindra will launch its cheapest Thar 2WD, i.e., Real Wheel Drive model, today (January 9).
It was believed that it would be found at Auto Expo 2023, but it will be launched before this event.
However, the company has not made any official announcement regarding this date.
In the past, the details of the photo, color, and interior of this off-road SUV have also come to the fore.
Not only this, but its brochure has also surfaced. The image of its Bronze Gold color has also been revealed.
Let us tell you that according to the reports, its price will be less than 10 lakh rupees.
AX Opt and LX variants will be available
A two-wheel drive system will be available in Thar 2WD. It will be launched with a new diesel engine.
According to the leaked details, this SUV will be available in two new colors Blazing Bronze and Everest White.
Apart from this, Aquamarine, Napoli Black, Red Rage, and Galaxy Gray color options will also be available.
This 2WD model will be launched in variants AX Opt and LX. Some such features will also be given in it, which you get in a four-wheel drive, like bumpers, molded footsteps, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
It will also get an electronic stability program (ESP), electric outside rearview mirrors (ORVM’s), fog lamps, cruise control, roof-mounted speakers, and a touchscreen infotainment system.
I will get a 1.5-liter deal engine
According to the document related to its engine, it has been given a 1.5-liter diesel engine, which generates maximum power of 118 bhp at 3,500 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm at 1,750-2,500 rpm.
The company is also using this engine in Marazzo. Its other engine option gets a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, which generates 152hp power and 300Nm torque.
At the same time, an automatic gearbox is also available in the vote with 320Nm torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.
There will also be an entry-level variant in 2WD
The company has added a new auto start/stop functionality and a lock/unlock button in the center console on the Thar 2WD. 4×4 badging will not be seen in it.
However, in appearance, this model will be similar to 4WD. It is believed that there will also be an entry-level variant of the new Thar 2WD.
Due to the smaller engine and the absence of a four-wheel drive system, the price of the Mahindra Thar 2WD could be meager.
Currently, the price of Thar ranges from Rs 13.58 lakh to Rs 16.28 lakh.
However, tax exemption will also be available on this off-road vehicle due to these changes. It is believed that its price will be less than ten lakhs.
Mahindra Thar Features and Specifications
An aux port and two USB ports will be available in the infotainment system of Mahindra Thar 2W.
Mahindra Thar gets features like an LED headlight, LED DRLs, alloy wheels, hard/soft rooftop, automatic climate control,
forward-facing rear seats with ISOFIX mounts, touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Thar has received a 4-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. The company has also prepared to launch its 5-door model.
