Mahindra teases New SUV for India. Will It rival Creta, Vitara?

Mahindra & Mahindra Chief Design Officer Pratap Bose has released the first teaser of the new Mahindra S.U.V.

The model’s silhouette can be seen in the teaser with wheel arches,

straight roof, windshield, and hunchback rear section.

The model is similar to the Mahindra BE.05 E.V. concept unveiled on 15 August 2022.

The Mahindra BE.05 Electric S.U.V. concept measures 4370mm in length, 1900mm in width, and 1635mm in height. And its wheelbase is 2775mm.

Upcoming Mahindra S.U.V. Design

The Mahindra BE., 05 E.V. concept features angular C-shaped headlamps, distinctive air dams, side glossy black cladding, square off-wheel arches, flush door handles, sloping roofline, sharply designed rear bumper, and C-shaped taillamps.

When launched in India, the teased new Mahindra S.U.V. could rival the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Earlier, Mahindra confirmed that the new generation Mahindra XUV500 will be introduced as a competitor to the Creta.

Mahindra XUV500

In the company’s product lineup, the new Mahindra XUV500 (codename – S301) will sit above the XUV300 and below the XUV700.

It will share its platform with the XUV700.

It has been designed by the Mahindra Automotive Design Europe (M.A.D.E.) team under the supervision of Pratap Bose.

Upcoming Mahindra S.U.V. Engine

The engine setup of the S.U.V. could include a 1.2L turbo petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine sourced from the Mahindra XUV300 subcompact S.U.V.

The company is expected to offer an extensive touchscreen infotainment system, A.D.A.S. (advanced driver assistance system),

premium audio system, electric sunroof, multiple airbags and other great features in the new XUV500.

Upcoming Mahindra S.U.V. Price

As of now, Mahindra & Mahindra has yet to reveal the debut date and details of the new S.U.V.

It is expected to come out in the second half of 2023.

Prices for the upcoming Mahindra S.U.V. are scheduled to start from Rs 10 lakh for the base model and go up to Rs 17 lakh for the top-end variant.

And currently, the price of the Hyundai Creta ranges between Rs 10.44 Lakh – Rs 18.24 Lakh.

Apart from this, the cost of the Maruti Grand Vitara ranges between Rs 10.45 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh. These prices are as per ex-showroom.
