Several train services to and from Maharashtra are set to be canceled until August 30th and 31st.
The Central Railway has announced that due to a planned maintenance block at Murtijapur station yard, a total of 14 mail and express trains will be affected.
Understanding Long Distance Freight Trains
Efficient Operations: Central Railway explains the concept of long-distance freight trains, where two goods trains are combined for smoother operations.
This approach optimizes time and operational efficiency, allowing the second freight train to piggyback on the first.
With about 100 wagons shared between the two trains, the system effectively runs two goods trains as one, using the same route.
This strategy saves time and streamlines other train schedules.
Reason for Train Cancellations
Priority Redefined: Bhusaval and Nagpur divisions have been operating these combined long-distance freight trains between Bhusaval and Nagpur.
To enhance efficiency and punctuality of both long-distance goods trains and mail express services, a long loop line is being introduced at Murtizapur station.
This measure will create space for approximately 100 goods wagons and enable mail express trains to take precedence.
Consequently, some trains will be canceled from August 29th to August 31st.
