In a recent development, Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani has issued an order granting a 10% rebate in house tax for Prayagraj residents.
Following this announcement, the Chief Assessing Officer promptly declared an exemption in house tax until July 31.
PK Dwivedi, the Chief Tax Assessment Officer of the Municipal Corporation, mentioned that the bills for the current fiscal year have been dispatched to building owners starting from May 15.
It is important to note that this discount is applicable solely to the bills for the ongoing financial year.
Additionally, landlords will still be required to pay interest on any outstanding dues from previous years, as stipulated by the Act.
